What is a PHEV?

The Escape Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) uses two sources of power to get you where you need to go, efficiently. The Escape PHEV can travel up to 56km on battery power alone2. For longer journeys, power split technology recharges the hybrid battery as you drive.
